Horizon College International Celebrates Academic Excellence at the AnnualAwards Ceremony 2024 – 2025

Horizon College International (HCI) proudly hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony on the
29 th January 2026 at the NIIBS Convention Centre, in a grand celebration of academic
excellence and holistic student achievement.


The prestigious event was graced by Prof. S. W. Prathiba Mahanamahewa as the Chief
Guest and was attended by 1,200 participants, including students, parents, educators, and
distinguished guests. The Annual Awards Ceremony is one of HCI’s most significant events
of the year, recognising outstanding accomplishments across academic and co-curricular
spheres.


Over 300 Horizonites were honoured for their exceptional performance in the presence of
the Chairman, Mr. Upul Daranagama, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing well-
rounded, future-ready individuals.


Highlighting the milestones of the academic year, Mrs. Maryanne Hills, Principal, presented
a comprehensive overview of the key activities and achievements across preschool to the
senior sections, emphasising HCI’s holistic approach to education and character
development.


Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mahanamahewa underscored the vital role of education
alongside co-curricular activities and sports in shaping balanced and responsible citizens.
He commended HCI for its sustained efforts in fostering academic excellence while
promoting values and well-rounded individuals in multiple disciplines.


The Annual Awards Ceremony 2024/25 concluded on a note of pride and inspiration,
reaffirming HCI’s mission to empower students to excel and contribute meaningfully to
society.
