
ChoKoLAATe, in collaboration with TISSL, successfully concluded the Phase 05 of its annual Schools Heads Workshop, Redefining Classrooms under the theme, “The Importance of Sustainability Education in the Classroom”, recently at Jasmine Hall, BMICH.
The initiative brought together school principles and heads from across the nation to exchange and share insights and perspectives on strengthening the education system with a focus on equipping students with essential soft skills and knowledge for their learning journey.
The conference featured a Keynote Address by Ms. Shiranee E. Yasaratne on the importance of biodiversity, along with a Guest Speech by Mr. Rod Smith.
A highlight of the event was a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring, Dr. Sugeeth Patabendige, Ms. Shiranee E. Yasaratne, Rev. Heshan De Silva, Ms. Vinita Shenoy, and Mr. Mithun Gururaj, moderated by Ms. Zahara Ansary. The interactive session encouraged active participation from participants with the audience raising questions and offering suggestions directly to the panel.
The workshop was attended by over 150 principals and school heads from more than 50 schools across Sri Lanka, demonstrating a strong commitment to growth and purpose for educational advancement.
With its focus on sustainable education, Redefining Classrooms Phase 05 marked a pioneering step towards shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s school system, leaving a lasting impact on both educators and learners.
