The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has a brand-new specialization in Artificial Intelligence for the BSc (Hons) in IT degree. The groundbreaking programme marks a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s higher education sector, particularly as SLIIT is a non-state university.
Recognizing Artificial Intelligence as the future of education and technological innovation, SLIIT has designed the four-year BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence degree programme to meet the growing demand for AI experts in the face of rapid technological advancements. The curriculum combines wide-ranging theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience, culminating in a final year Research Project.
The program stands out for its comprehensive curriculum emphasizing cutting-edge areas such as data analytics, neural networks, and intelligent systems, ensuring students are well-versed in the latest technological advancements. With a strong focus on academic excellence, the programme integrates practical training and industry certifications to prepare students for real-world challenges.
