SLIIT showcases future of technology at Silver Jubilee Exhibition Expo 2025 ‘Diffusing Technologies’

As SLIIT celebrates 25 years of academic excellence and innovation, a four-day highly anticipated Silver Jubilee Exhibition Expo 2025 ‘Diffusing Technologies’, will take place from April 3rd to 6th, 2025, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the SLIIT Malabe campus. The premier event aims to provide visitors insights into cutting edge technological advancements across multiple disciplines.

The exhibition represents a milestone in SLIIT’s journey as a leading technology education institution in Sri Lanka, showcasing the outstanding achievements of students and faculty. The displays will highlight the institute’s contributions to technological innovation and education over the past quarter century.

SLIIT’s ‘Diffusing Technologies’, Exhibition Expo presents an invaluable opportunity for networking, for students, professionals, and the public to gain insights into emerging technologies and real-world applications.

School students will have the unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology, participate in hands-on workshops, and explore career pathways in fields like Computing, Engineering, Business, Humanities & Sciences, and Architecture. They can interact with industry experts, experience live demonstrations, and gain real-world insights that will inspire their future academic and professional journeys. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to explore trailblazing technologies and innovative educational approaches across diverse disciplines. The wide ranging exhibition will feature interactive activities and displays from multiple faculties.

Importantly, the Faculty of Computing’s exhibition stands as a keystone of SLIIT’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, reiterating the institution’s leadership in computing education and research. Visitors will witness the faculty’s commitment to innovation through diverse, pioneering displays in AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and immersive technologies. These demonstrations highlight SLIIT’s contribution to technological advancement while inspiring the next generation of computing professionals in Sri Lanka’s digital ecosystem.

The faculty will showcase innovative projects in AI, IoT, robotics area, and cybersecurity, alongside AR/VR experiences and holographic displays. They will also host a Gaming Zone and a Tech Zone to provide interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. A special UAV demonstration by the Sri Lanka Army will be conducted to showcase drone technology applications. Students can pre-register for CODEFEST 2025, the nationwide Software Competition, at a dedicated stall, while Tech Talk sessions will also be held.

The School of Business Studies will demonstrateon Sustainable Business Practices, Application of new technology for business, Green Supply Chain Game, Data Visualization, Sustainability Quiz, Carbon footprint calculator, Job Interview Demonstrations, SBS History, “Dining in the Dark” and Fashion Business demonstrations.

The Faculty of Engineering Exhibition and allied Departments will highlight pioneering advancements in robotics, automation, biomedical engineering, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability. The Mechanical Engineering Department will present complete vehicle systems, electric and autonomous vehicles, plus robotics including humanoid and micro mouse robots. The Sri Lanka Air Force will showcase exclusive flight exhibits and live demonstrations, offering an exciting insight into aviation technology and operations. The Civil Engineering Department will feature daily drone shows demonstrating aerial surveying technology, models of ancient engineering structures, and interactive bridge construction games.

In addition, the Quantity Surveying Department will host a VR Project for immersive construction technology experiences, BlockFest© sustainability competition, and AI-powered ‘Building Clinic’ providing construction cost advice. Moreover, the Faculty will demonstrate intelligent systems for transportation, public safety, and healthcare alongside solutions for energy efficiency, smart infrastructure, and wildlife conservation. It offers valuable insights into the future of technology for students, professionals, and the public.

The Faculty of Humanities and Sciences will feature displays a diverse range of interactive exhibits across various disciplines. The School of Education presents AR-based teaching demos, educational games, and live oriental music, while the School of Nursing offers health education sessions, free checkups, quizzes, and a healthy food stall. Dive into the School of Psychology’s Mental Health Café, brain zone, myth-busting booths, and executive function tests. Witness School of Law mock trials, legal games, short films, and quizzes. The School of Linguistics brings Shakespearean performances, English band shows, ESL games, and a themed photo booth. Engage with Mathematics & Statistics through puzzles, golden ratio demos, and open challenges. Explore Natural Sciences with live DNA analysis, biotech and nanotech demos, plant tissue culture, and a ‘Smart Agriculture’ greenhouse.

The School of Architecture’s exhibition features multiple programming connecting architecture with various creative fields. Visitors can attend specialized forums exploring architecture’s relationship with art, performance, music, and film. Student works from BSc and MSc Architecture and BA Interior Design programs will be displayed alongside three impressive life-size models and installations. Alumni will lead career pathway workshops, while student talent show will showcase creative performances celebrating the artistic aspects of architectural education.
