
The ‘Hulftsdorp Bookfest’, organized by the Sri Lanka Law Students’ Sinhala Union, will be held for four days starting today (17th) on the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th at the Main Hall of Sri Lanka Law College, Hulftsdorp.
At the inauguration ceremony held this morning, the Chief Guest was former Minister of Justice and President’s Counsel, Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. Addressing the gathering, he stated that programmes of this nature help cultivate a reading habit among law students.
He further mentioned that in the current context, where the scope of the legal field has significantly expanded, enhancing one’s knowledge creates opportunities for anyone to reach the highest levels within the profession.
Leading publishing companies such as M.D. Gunasena, Lake House Publications, the Bar Association of Colombo, Dayawansa Jayakody & Company, and Grantha are participating in the exhibition.
In addition, publications authored by the legal illuminaries including Professor G.L. Peiris, President’s Counsel Kalinga Indrathissa, President’s Counsel Jayampathy Wickramaratne, President’s Counsel K.N. Choksy, President’s Counsel Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, and President’s Counsel Sarath Jayamanne are available for purchase at the exhibition.
