NSBM Convocation Week 2025 Begins in Grand Celebration

NSBM Green University commenced its Convocation Week 2025 with an inspiring opening ceremony that honoured the dedication and achievements of more than 3,400 graduates from the Class of 2025.

The week launched with Session 1, dedicated to celebrating 150 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, representing programmes in Interior Design, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering.

The event was officiated by Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, in the presence of Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance; Dr. Chandana Perera, Dean – Faculty of Engineering; Deans, academics, parents, and well-wishers.

Adding further prestige to the ceremony, Dr. Narendra De Silva, Head of Engineering at Lanka Electricity Company (Pvt) Ltd, delivered the keynote address, inspiring graduates to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the evolving engineering industry.

The ceremony also honoured the Best Performers of each programme:

  • Bachelor of Interior Design – Jayali Pinsari Jayasekera
  • BSc Engineering (Hons) in Computer Systems Engineering – N. S. D. Kavindu Harshamal Perera
  • BSc Engineering (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering – G. D. Ayesh Chandula Weerasooriya
  • BSc Engineering (Hons) in Mechatronic Engineering – H. M. Samidya Lageshni Herath

The opening ceremony set an uplifting tone for the week, marking the beginning of a significant milestone in the lives of NSBM Engineering graduates. Their journey forward now begins, shaped by innovation, perseverance, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
