Launch Your Global Career with the APIIT Pathway to a Deakin Degree

Embarking on an international degree program is a transformative experience that can shape your future and open doors to global opportunities. Deakin University, Australia, in partnership with the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) Sri Lanka, offers a unique 1+2 pathway to a prestigious Deakin degree in either Business or IT.

The pathway starts with a year of study at APIIT Sri Lanka in the BSc (Honors) International Business Management degree or the BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree. Upon successful completion of the first year, students can apply to transfer to Deakin University, Australia, to complete their Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business, or Bachelor of IT degree.

One of the key advantages of this pathway is the ability to receive exemptions for up to 8 credit points (equivalent to 1 year of study) at Deakin, depending on the major chosen. This enables students to fast-track their degree and graduate sooner, saving time and money while earning a globally recognized qualification.

Deakin University is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide by QS and offers world-class education in a range of disciplines. With modern campuses, state-of-the-art facilities, and an innovative online learning environment, Deakin provides students with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.

Another attractive feature of the APIIT pathway to Deakin is the opportunity to gain industry experience while studying. Deakin believes in the importance of practical experience, offering work placements in businesses and organizations both in Australia and overseas. This hands-on experience gives students a competitive edge in the job market and prepares them for successful careers in their chosen field.

Moreover, studying at Deakin opens up opportunities for post-study work rights in Australia. By studying a minimum of 16 credits over two years at Deakin, students become eligible to work in Australia for two or three years (depending on the Deakin campus location) after completing their degree, under current Australian government rules.

To register for the APIIT Pathway to a Deakin Degree program, interested students can visit deakin.edu.au/sri-lanka or contact the APIIT City Campus in Colombo. With dedicated support from APIIT Sri Lanka and Deakin University, students can embark on a journey that will not only enhance their academic and professional skills but also broaden their horizons and prepare them for a successful global career.
