The Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel (SLITA) has opened a new facility aimed at strengthening education and training in fashion and apparel design.
The new building includes advanced laboratories equipped with Lectra, Gerber and Optitex systems to support pattern making and apparel design, providing students with exposure to industry-standard technology.
The facility also features a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of nearly 300, an expanded library with over 10,000 resources, and dedicated creative spaces including a designing studio and fabric library.
Student support services such as an idea lab, bookshop and counselling units have also been incorporated into the new building.
