
Six teachers including a school principal have been taken into the custody of the Examinations Department for questioning over allegations of leaking the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination paper.
Lankadeepa newspaper reported that one of the teachers who were on examination duty, had taken photographs of the first question paper, ten minutes before the exam began on Sunday, September 15.
The images had been then forwarded to several other teachers, it was reported.
Accordingly, the teachers who are employed at schools in Anuradhapura and Nochchiyagama had been taken into custody of the Exams Department, along with their mobile devices for questioning.
Meanwhile, another inquiry is underway to determine whether the exam paper was leaked on social media before the exam.
“Investigations into 3 questions shared for discussions yesterday being similar to those on the Grade 5 scholarship exam paper, are to be held tomorrow & if they have been leaked, these questions are to be disregarded during paper marking” Exams Chief told adaderana.
