Sri Lankan teachers are invited to apply for the Japanese government-funded MEXT scholarship for 2026, which will enable selected candidates to undertake a teacher training program in Japan.
The program is scheduled to commence in October 2026 and conclude in March 2028.
Application guidelines and relevant forms have been provided, and authorities have been requested to disseminate the information and encourage eligible applicants to apply. Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 28, 2026. Interviews will be conducted jointly with officials of the Japanese Embassy.
The scholarship seeks to support professional development and strengthen educational cooperation between Sri Lanka and Japan.
