

Naveeta Fernando of Ladies College, Colombo, has been awarded a Silver Award at the Queens Commonwealth Competition 2025. The competition is well-known to be the world’s oldest international writing competitions for schools, delivered by the the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883. Under this initiative, Write Around the World has inspired a massive number of young writers across the globe to showcase their passion and share their ideas with peers from other countries.
With its world-renowned recognition, the competition comes with high standards and Naveeta has indeed proven herself to be an exceptional writer for she has previously won a Silver Award in 2023 and a Bronze Award in 2022.
Her victories not only highlight her passion, creativity and dedication to her craft but also position her as a representative of the many success stories emerging from Ladies College and Sri Lanka, shining on the global stage.
