


The annual Faculty Meet of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya is underway, bringing together students from across batches for a programme that blends sports, culture and campus engagement.
The meet began on Jan. 27 with an opening ceremony and the traditional road race. Over the past days, students have taken part in events such as carrom, chess, powerlifting, table tennis, cricket, athletics and volleyball, alongside football, rugby and netball matches held on Feb. 6, promoting teamwork, discipline and student well-being alongside academic life.
Cultural activities are running in parallel, with the singing competition held on Feb. 5, while debate and dancing competitions are yet to take place. Literary and fine arts submissions will be showcased at the closing ceremony.
The 2026 Faculty Meet concludes on Feb. 7, celebrating student talent, sportsmanship and learning beyond the classroom.
