Class Structure – Classes and laboratory practicals for STEM subjects

Duration – 8 months

Contact Hours – 5-6 hours per unit, per week + practicals

The program is designed to match the first-year curriculum of Monash University, ensuring students experience the same academic rigor and practical exposure. It is delivered in two trimesters (8 months total), combining lectures, tutorials, and hands-on lab sessions.

Whether your interests lie in biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics, the curriculum gives you a well-rounded start to your scientific education. From genetics and molecular biology to organic chemistry and physical sciences, each subject is taught by qualified academic staff in a supportive learning environment.

What You’ll Study

During the first trimester, students explore fundamental concepts through subjects like

• Business Statistics.

Trimester two takes students deeper into the world of science, with modules such as

• Chemistry 2

• Physics for Engineering
• Discrete Mathematics

Scholarship Criteria – Monash Programmes

UCL also makes quality education more accessible with a range of scholarships. Students can apply under one category of scholarship and the highest scholarship is proposed to be awarded. The set of conditions for the awarding f the scholarships are as follows.

• Only achievements obtained in the last three years will be considered for ANY scholarship

• Only Examination subject grades completed in one sitting will be considered for ANY scholarship

• Minimum Advance Level subjects to be done in one sitting, 3 subjects (Any)

• Minimum Ordinary Level Subjects to be done in one sitting, 9 subjects (Local)

• Minimum Ordinary Level Subjects to be done in one sitting, 5 subjects (Edexcel/Cambridge)

The following scholarships are available at UCL

Monash University Foundation Year – Merit Scholarships

• Local Ordinary Level : A grades in all subjects (30% of scholarship level)

• Edexcel/Cambridge Ordinary Level : A* grades in all subjects (30% of scholarship level)

• Edexcel/Cambridge Ordinary Level : A grades in all subjects (20% of scholarship level)

• Other equivalent Ordinary Level Qualifications : Overall Higher Distinction Grade/Average in all subjects (20% of scholarship level)

• Other equivalent Ordinary Level Qualifications : Overall Distinction Grade/Average in all subjects (20% of scholarship level)

Other Scholarships

• Sports – School Colours/ISAC (10% of scholarship level)

• Sports – National Colours (20% of scholarship level)
