Australia has recently introduced important updates to its Skilled Migration and Work Visa programs announcing the Migration Program for the financial year 2025/26 commenced in July this year. Australian Government announced 185,000 new migration places, with 132,000 dedicated to skilled migration, this is a clear reflection of the nation’s strong and continuing demand for skilled professionals. Consequently, State and Territory Governments in Australia had opened State Nomination programs to attract skill migrants securing nomination allocations by Australian Government.

Among Australian states, Victoria stands out for its exceptional opportunities, particularly for onshore applicants. Sri Lanka and Victoria share a close and historic relationship from Victorian Government’ support during Sri Lanka’s Tsunami recovery efforts to its funding of hospitals and community projects. The state even had a former Governor-General of Sri Lankan heritage, symbolising the deep ties between. Today, over one hundred thousand Sri Lankans proudly call Victoria home, making it one of the most welcoming states for new migrants. However, the future migration opportunities to Sri Lankans lies in regional states such as South Australia, Westen Australia, Australian Capital Territory and other.

Australia’s economy thrives on four key pillars: resources, agriculture, tourism, and international education.
Individuals with the right skills particularly in hospitality, service, healthcare, and technical sectors can explore outstanding career, business, and investment opportunities across the country.
