Asian International School Students Redefine Theater

Inter-House Drama Champions – Garnet House

The Inter-House Drama Competition of Asian International School took place at the Lionel Wendt Theater on Sunday 18th February 2024.

This year the students explored devised theater through four original plays which were inspired by the theme “Tolerance”.

This provided the opportunity for students to devise their own play where the script progressed through stages and the play evolved with rehearsals. The students were thus encouraged to work as a team of artistes and collaborate on the total production from beginning to the end.

It was interesting to note that each House had chosen to portray the theme in four different stage productions displaying a unique plot, context and style of theater. The judges commended the teams for the hard work that had gone in to devise their own drama.

Asian International School has a rich tradition in drama and theater and the competition this year provided ample opportunity to foster creativity, innovation and collaboration on stage. The audience was captivated throughout the evening with splendid performances which brought out the hidden talents of many students.
