Applications are now open for the inaugural Upali Ratnayake Scholarship Scheme, a prestigious initiative established to honour the legacy of Upali Ratnayake and his immense contribution to the development of the CIMA profession and accounting community in Sri Lanka.

The scholarship has been created to support one deserving Sri Lankan student to pursue the complete CIMA study programme, commencing with the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and progressing through the CGMA Finance Leadership Program (FLP). This is a single scholarship awarded to one candidate and is subject to applicable terms, conditions and review requirements.

Throughout his career, Upali Ratnayake was instrumental in building CIMA Sri Lanka into one of the most vibrant professional communities in the region. He championed access to professional education, mentored aspiring finance professionals and played a critical role in establishing the foundation for the profession’s growth in Sri Lanka.

Eligibility Criteria

• Have completed their GCE Ordinary Level Examination and have sat for Advanced Level examinations
• Demonstrate an interest in accounting, finance, business or leadership
• Require financial assistance to pursue professional studies
• Show commitment to completing the CIMA qualification pathway
