Special Committee Appointed to Enhance Academic Programs at the University of Vocational Technology

A six-member expert committee has been established to assess and enhance the academic programs at the University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) in Ratmalana. The committee’s mandate is to provide recommendations to the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, aiming to elevate the quality of these programs to meet both national and international standards. The appointments were made by the Secretary to the Ministry, Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewa.

The committee members are :

  • Dr. Janaka Jayalath – Chairman (Member, Advisory Board of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education)

  • Prof. Thushara Chaminda – Member (Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna)

  • Prof. J.C.N. Rajendra – Member (Council Member, University of Vocational Technology)

  • Dr. K.A. Lalithadheera – Member(Director General, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission)

  • Eng. S.B. Anura Deshapriya Semasinghe – Member (Chief Executive Officer, Central Engineering Services [Pvt] Ltd, Sri Lanka/Abu Dhabi)

  • Himali W.K. Athawudage – Convener (Additional Secretary, Division of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education)
