Hungary Offers 8 Undergraduate Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students

The Ministry of Education has invited applications from eligible Sri Lankans for eight undergraduate scholarships under Hungary’s Stipendium Hungaricum Program for the 2026/27 academic year. These scholarships are part of the bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Hungary.

Successful applicants can pursue studies in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and agriculture. Programs are offered in English and Hungarian, and details on courses and host institutions are available through the official application portal: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/

Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees fully covered, though they are responsible for their international travel expenses. Eligible applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens over 18, have at least three passes at the GCE A/L exam in relevant subjects, and a good command of English (minimum C pass at O/L and S pass at A/L).

Candidates should be in good health, willing to reside in Hungary during their studies, and not currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a Sri Lankan state university.

The application deadline is 15 January 2026, 14:00 CET. Guidance on applying is available at: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/apply/
