Chameera De Silva: A Sri Lankan Achiever

Chameera De Silva, an accomplished academic and doctoral scholar in Artificial Intelligence at the prestigious James Cook University, stands as a testament to Sri Lankan talent and dedication. A certified Cloud AI engineer (AWS /Google), De Silva currently excels as an Artificial Intelligence Consultant for Atos in the United Kingdom. His work is characterized by innovative approaches and a strong commitment to leveraging AI to solve real-world challenges.

Significant Contributions to Research

De Silva has made notable contributions to several high-impact research projects in Australia, reflecting his expertise and leadership in the AI community.

OPENAIR: SMART Solutions for Air Quality Testing

This project, funded by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) and the New South Wales Smart Sensing Network (NSSN), focuses on developing smart solutions for air quality testing, promoting best practices for city councils with an investment of $2.4 million.

Analytical Framework for Biodiversity, Water Quality, and Human Health

In collaboration with Western Sydney University, this research aims to create a data-driven analytical framework to investigate the connections between biodiversity, water quality, and human health in a sub-river basin in Sri Lanka’s dry zone. The project is funded by BioBridge.
