In Search of a New You: Finding Happiness and Joy in Life and Work

Joy and happiness are wonderful feelings, but they are quite different. Joy comes when you accept yourself and understand why you are here and how you can make a difference. Happiness, on the other hand, often depends on external factors like people, things, places, thoughts, or events.

We all hope for stability in our country—political, economic, social, and community stability. This stability can bring many benefits to everyone, both in terms of quality (like peace and harmony among communities) and quantity (such as better incomes and living standards, increased productivity, and a stronger workforce).

However, even if we achieve all these improvements, can people truly be happy and joyful? I believe the answer is a simple “NO.” Let me explain why.

HURRY AND WORRY – THE PROBLEMS

Since the start of the new millennium, our world has changed dramatically due to advanced technology. While these changes have made us more efficient, they have also brought new challenges—what I call “hurry and worry.” This constant rush has led to physical and emotional problems like gastritis, stomach ulcers, stress, anxiety, and depression.

Many of us have become multitaskers, trying to do too many things at once. But instead of doing one thing well, we end up doing everything half-heartedly. This leaves us feeling unsatisfied, angry, and rushed. As a result, many people are not happy or joyful; they feel miserable. Sadly, this is why our country has high rates of suicide, even among children and young people.

KNOW YOUR PULSE

Yes, we are facing multiple crises—economic, political, social, financial, and health-related—due to recent events like the pandemic. But if we look at the opposite of crises, we can remain hopeful that things will get better. These opposites include relief, miracles, blessings, resolution, favor, profit, happiness, joy, good fortune, calm, pleasure, and more.

FINDING HAPPINESS AND JOY – THE SOLUTION

Instead of chasing after happiness like a butterfly that always eludes us, we need to make a decision to be joyful. Joy is not just a feeling; it’s a way of living.

Finding joy is simple if you are a compassionate, kind, humble, caring, generous, helpful, empathetic, and loving person. When you express unconditional love, you attract joy into your life like a magnet. This not only enhances your quality of life but also brings miracles into your work and personal life.

Leading a joyful life involves giving your best effort—100%—in everything you do, whether it’s living, loving, working, or praying. Avoid getting too absorbed in technology and isolating yourself from others. Instead, value and cherish your relationships with family, teachers, peers, and friends.

LEADING A JOYFUL LIFE – MY EXPERIENCE

To be truly happy and joyful, forgive those who have wronged you and focus on what you have rather than comparing yourself to others. Help those in need whenever you can. Celebrate your successes and share your happiness with others.

Remember, our purpose in life is to be joyful. Let’s rejoice and celebrate life to the fullest!

May your dreams come true this year? Be Happy! Be Joyful!
